Dr. Jad Chaaban holds a PhD in Economics from the Toulouse School of Economics, in addition to a Master’s in Environmental and Natural Resources Economics from the same university, and an MBA from ESCP Business School – Paris.
His primary research interests are in development economics and industrial organization, and his extended interests include public economics of health, education and labour policies. His work focuses mostly on using tools in micro and applied economics to tackle public policy issues that affect the lives of the most vulnerable groups in society.
Dr. Chaaban regularly contributes to economic policy analysis on Middle Eastern and global development issues to various international institutions and UN agencies, and his research and advocacy work has often been featured in international media.
Mark Daou is a member of the Lebanese Parliament and a prominent voice for reform, sovereignty, and progressive politics in Lebanon.
His career is rooted in over 25 years of political activism and civic engagement, during which he has championed causes centered on democracy, secularism, human rights, and social justice.
A university lecturer in Media Studies at both the American University of Beirut and the Lebanese American University, Daou brings academic rigor to his political and public service roles. He was the founder of the Rowat Public Relations firm and has also co-founded the Taqaddom party, a progressive political movement that emerged in the wake of Lebanon’s recent popular uprisings.
His educational background includes a degree in Political Sociology from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a business degree from the American University of Beirut (AUB). As an entrepreneur, he has focused on media, communications, and more recently, technology outsourcing services—reflecting his forward-looking approach to Lebanon’s economic challenges.
Juliana Jurdi holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy, along with a Diploma in Project Management.
With over five years of experience in the development sector, she has successfully managed programs funded by international donors such as the European Union (EU) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Her work focuses on advancing sustainable development initiatives through effective project design, implementation, and stakeholder engagement.
Wafaa Abi Jomaa is an experienced executive and board member with a strong background in leadership, management, and community service. She served as CEO and board member of Daou Oil & Transport Company, bringing decades of strategic and operational expertise.
Deeply committed to civic engagement, she is an active member of the Lions Club, where she contributes to community service and leadership initiatives. As a founding member and previous president of Zonta Club Beirut, she champions women’s empowerment and social development. She has also held key leadership positions within the Zonta Foundation, including Area Director and LT Governor. In addition, she serves as Treasurer of Dawruna, supporting programs that foster inclusive growth and sustainable community development.
