My Experience with the DAWRUNA Association:

Through my personal experience as a person with a disability, my relationship with the DAWRUNA association was a major turning point in my life. From the very first moment I joined, I felt like I was part of a community that embraced my abilities, did not focus on my disability, and genuinely aimed to empower and integrate me effectively into society.
The association worked on providing a safe and supportive environment—through workshops, training programs, and social activities that foster self-confidence and independence. It also helped me build a network of relationships with people who share the same challenges, which eased my sense of isolation and gave me the chance to learn from others’ experiences.
As for the importance of the continuity of this project, it goes beyond individual support; it contributes to achieving social justice on a broader scale. Projects like DAWRUNA help change the stereotypical image of persons with disabilities, empower them to claim their rights, and actively participate in public and economic life. These are projects that create real impact—not through pity, but through justice and empowerment.
The continuation of this project doesn’t just mean preserving our current achievements—it means building a more fair and equal future, where every individual has an active role regardless of their disability. We don’t need people to “feel sorry” for us; we need those who believe in our abilities and support our participation in building an inclusive society.
